ELR USA National Championship

I had a feeling that the inaugural ELR USA National Championship from 18 to 20 October was going to be held in a remote location when my GPS stated “Some roads may be unpaved”. Turns out, my assumption was correct. However, Hawks Double Mountain Ranch (HDMR) had excellent gravel roads and all turns were clearly marked. HDMR is in the beautiful hills of southwest Texas. This 25 000 plus acre facility boasts a natural terrain of hills, valleys, and steep rock slopes. White streaks of gypsum are sandwiched between layers of rock and the dirt is dry, with a fine powdery consistency.
