PERPC Women’s Day

The Port Elizabeth Rifle & Pistol Club (PERPC) hosted its second women’s day on 25 May. A total of 16 ladies attended the day, which covered a presentation on situational awareness, self-defence, and a shooter introduction on the range.

PERPC created a position for a Development Officer on the club committee with the aim to introduce firearm owners to the club and develop existing club members to be more competitive, attend national shooting competitions, and attain provincial and national colours. It was at this point that the Public Relations Officer (PRO) became involved and a development team was established to deal with the greater demand of open days and fun days hosted at PERPC. The ultimate aim is to introduce members of the public to PERPC to grow club membership, get firearm owners on the range in all shooting disciplines, nurture competition, and to give back to the community.
