Being a .22 LR fan for many years, with this being my first rifle competing at school level, it is breathtaking to see the growth. Rimfire has taken South Africa by storm, with multiple major leagues popping up and providing much-needed competitive platforms for shooters. Suddenly, .22 LRs standing in the safe are put to good use, and we do have some serious contenders on the range. With the uptick in rimfire in South Africa, the big elephant in the room is: “Should I clean or not”?
