Kaylin Blomerus Future star on the horizon

Our sports-shooter profiles are usually reserved for multi-discipline grand masters who compete internationally and have more shooting titles than they can recall. That being said, now and then you come across a new sports-shooter who blows you away not only with their talent, but also with their sheer exuberance and passion for all things firearm related. Kaylin Blomerus may only be 17, but this young lady undoubtedly has a bright future in sports-shooting.

Kaylin is not your typical teenager, but a well-spoken, very knowledgeable and humble young lady with a deep passion for all sports that require squeezing a trigger. Kaylin explains that her introduction to firearms was coincidental: “Two years ago, our family went to a farm in the Christiana district. There was not much to do on the farm, so when I saw my dad practicing with his Beretta 92, I instinctively asked him if I could try. After firing my first round at the target, I was hooked!” Things progressed rapidly from there. Jaco, Kaylin’s father, immediately got her involved at the Kraaifontein Shooting Club (KSC), where Kaylin was welcomed by young and old alike.
