When I learnt a South African company was making its own competitively priced Red Dot Sight (RDS), the temptation was too much to resist. I just had to test one. Upon investigating and contacting Adriaan Van Der Spuy from AKRA Precision Optics, his passion for bringing high-quality optics to the South African market at affordable prices was apparent. With great enthusiasm he consented to send me the latest AKRA Origin Reflex Max RDS to test and evaluate. Designed and specified in South Africa, the optics are then manufactured in China. Given the number of leading brands also providing high-quality optics made in China, this was no cause for concern.
