SAAADA wins landmark victory for local firearm industry

Yet, vital industry association stares down a barrel due to low membership.

24 January 2025 The South African firearm industry suffered a major blow to importers in November 2024 when the Central Firearm Registry (CFR) unilaterally decided to, without consultation or discussion, halt the distribution of various shipments based on a spurious claim. The immediate result was a ripple effect of lost sales and, in turn, a lack of local options, never mind the impact on security companies, training providers, and other vital institutions.
