The Leyland Society was formed in 1998 with the aim of preserving the heritage of Britain’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer for future generations to appreciate.
Each year the Society holds a ‘Leyland Gathering’ where owners of Leyland buses and lorries (and those produced by the Leyland Group) can display their vehicles to members of the public. This year we are pleased to announce that our Gathering will be held at Rowsley South Station on the Peak Rail Heritage Railway near Matlock, Derbyshire on Sunday 29 June. The line forms part of the old Midland Railway line between Manchester Central and London St Pancras which closed in 1968. The railway operates on a line approximately four miles long between Rowsley South Station and Matlock Platform 2.
