MALCOLM HOBBS 1930-2024

Derek Adams has compiled this tribute to Malcolm Hobbs who passed away at the end of December age 94. Malcolm was a well-known man of steam and wind power, based in east Kent his wealth of knowledge on both subjects will be sorely missed as will his skills in carpentry and decorative painting to name but a few things. He was involved with the steam preservation movement and was involved in organising east Kent rallies, starting in the mid-1960s. Through Hobbs & Debling he went on to be involved with a late type AB Aveling & Porter steam roller and then own in 1964 1912 Marshall No. 59435, a 7hp traction engine which is now called Uncle George and lives in County Carlow, Republic of Ireland.
