BULLDOGS 38, DRAGONS 0 DARKEST DAY FOR DOG-GONE DRAGONS THE dark clouds returned for St George Illawarra on the eve of the finals when a disastrous performance against the Bulldogs sent them plummeting from the top four. The 38-point loss was the heaviest defeat in the club’s history at Kogarah and a record losing score against the Bulldogs. On an afternoon when the Dragons had every reason to perform – they paid a special tribute to Lance Thompson, farewelled retiring veteran Jason Nightingale and were playing their final home game of the season – their season sunk so low that emotional fans hurled abuse at players as they left the ground at full-time.
