Top four farewell for league of legends

WHEN the history books are written, the 2019 season will stand as a landmark in the rich story of the Rabbitohs. It may not have been a premiership-winning season but it will be remembered as the year that the red and greens farewelled three giants: Greg Inglis, John Sutton and Sam Burgess. For a club that has been around since 1908 it is not unprecedented to lose three big names in one hit but it is still hugely momentous. In 1957, the Rabbitohs said goodbye to premiership winners Jack Rayner, Les ‘Chica’ Cowie and Denis Donoghue, all players who had spent a decade in the top grade; in 1958 it was Clive Churchill, Ian Moir and Ernie Hammerton and in 1978 the Rabbitohs farewelled Bob McCarthy, George Piggins and Paul Sait.
