Fiji 44, Samoa 18 ENTERING the game as rank outsides, Fiji produced a stunning upset with a 44-18 triumph over Samoa at Eden Park in Auckland. It was Penrith star Viliame Kikau who set the game alight with two tries and he dominated with every carry of the ball. It was a first-half masterclass by the Bati, who scored five tries within the opening half an hour, and then were relentless in the second half. Joe Lovodua opened the scoring after five minutes before D’Rhys Miller crossed just three minutes later. Kikau grabbed his first try of the afternoon to extend his side’s lead 18-0, and then completed his double moments before the break.
