In rugby league’s salary cap era, no team had won consecutive grand finals since the 1992-93 Brisbane Broncos. The same club celebrated title successes in 1997-98 with a win in the one and only Super League competition and another in the inaugural season of the NRL, however no salary cap operated in those chaotic times.
