Round 21 August 8, 9, 10 & 11 BRONCOS 18, COWBOYS 14 TURPIN RE-IGNITES DERBY MAGIC FILL-IN halfback Jake Turpin stole victory for the Broncos with a try in the final minute of the clash with the Cowboys at 1300SMILES Stadium to breathe life into his team’s finals hopes. In a contest punctuated by errors, it was appropriate that Turpin scooped up an offload from Joe Ofahengaue that hit the deck before he slipped past two defenders to score. The Cowboys looked poised to continue their good record in Townsville derbies when Jake Clifford landed a late penalty goal to put his team ahead 14-12. But in the Broncos’ final attacking raid of the game, the Cowboys were unable to hang on and Turpin took his chance to win the game and propel his team back…
