GREAT Britain’s horror tour came to an end with a shock 28-10 loss to PNG in Port Moresby. After losing to Tonga then going down in back-to-back Tests to New Zealand, this was the Lions’ last chance for redemption on tour but they were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the home side.
When Englishmen Blake Austin and Josh Hodgson scored the game’s opening two tries, it seemed the Lions would run away with a comfortable away victory, however the Kumuls came to life in front of the passionate locals. Edwin Ipape scored just before the break to reduce the half-time deficit to four, and after the break, the home side ran riot.
