THE Melbourne Storm overcame a sloppy first-half performance to book their passage through to the grand final for the second year running after a 30-point shut-out of the Broncos. Both sides bombed scoring chances in a frantic first half before the Storm regained control to send the Broncos crashing from the premiership race. Yet again it was Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk – playing his final game for the Storm at AAMI Park – who guided Melbourne’s fortunes with important roles in the victory.
