Controversy mars strong Panthers win

BALL-PLAYER Bryce Cartwright left his troubles behind him to play a decisive role in Penrith’s win over Manly in a dramatic and controversial elimination final at Allianz Stadium. Plagued by leg injuries and personal issues during the season, Cartwright finally emerged to issue a reminder of his talent. Cartwright scored two tries and set up another for centre Tyrone Peachey as the Panthers reversed the result of their Round 26 clash with Manly to keep their season alive. Peachey’s try was disputed fiercely by the Sea Eagles and the firestorm of controversy from the decision, and a Manly try which was denied, raged for days.
