BRONCOS 24, DRAGONS 12 DRAGONS FAIL TO FIRE NORTH OF THE BORDER ST GEORGE Illawarra were left to walk the high wire to the finals after slumping to a 12-point loss to the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium. The Brisbane clash had brought the Dragons precious little success over a long period and their run of outs continued against a Broncos outfit who were finding form at the business end of the season. Injuries proved a setback to the Dragons’ hopes before kick-off, with Nene Macdonald, Hame Sele and Taane Milne all withdrawing late in the preparation. If the Dragons were concerned with a Suncorp curse, it was apparent early when Josh Dugan lost control of an Anthony Milford kick, leading to the opening try to Alex Glenn, before Dugan then knocked on after neat work…
