Tonga leave their run too late

A DESPAIRING tackle by second-rower Elliott Whitehead saved England’s bacon at Mt Smart Stadium and brought a heart-breaking end to Tonga’s magnificent World Cup campaign. On a day destined to go down as one of the most extraordinary in the game’s international history, Tonga fell agonisingly short of an epic comeback victory that would have pitched them into the World Cup final for the first time.
