Error-riddled England still too good for Kumuls

ENGLAND might have won their quarterfinal against Papua New Guinea by 30 points, but there was nothing pretty about the performance after a spate of dropped balls and missed opportunities. The Kumuls offered early resistance but after being pushed along by the fanatical support of Port Moresby crowds over three successive weekends, they struggled to achieve the same momentum against a bigger and more experienced opponent. Too often the Kumuls handed attacking opportunities to England by coughing up possession close to their own line. England were hardly ruthless in punishing the Kumuls for their errors, but they were handed enough chances to win two games and eventually they turned opportunities into points.
