NRL talent gives Cedars the winning edge

THE expertise of a handful of NRL players helped Lebanon to a history-making victory over France in a key Pool A match played in Canberra. While most of the Cedars’ team was drawn from second and third-tier competitions in New South Wales, the NRL experience of Robbie Farah, Tim Mannah, Mitch Moses, Michael Lichaa and Alex Twal proved decisive in Lebanon’s first victory in World Cup competition. By contrast, France’s team was comprised of a blend of Super League and English League 1 players plus a number from the French Elite 1 Championship.
