Kiwis fail to build their confidence

NEW ZEALAND lost four times to Australia in 2016 and needed a strong performance to re-build confidence as much as to ease pressure on positions within the team. Their lamentable effort at GIO Stadium did neither as the Kiwis slumped to their heaviest defeat in the mid-season Test since 2013. The Kiwis showed next to no sign of improvement despite making eight changes to the team beaten in the Four Nations final at Anfield and fielding the high-class spine of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Kieran Foran, Shaun Johnson and Issac Luke. The Kangaroos were excellent and had taken another step forward after their undefeated run through 2016.
