Wolves secure Super League double

WARRINGTON achieved an historic first in the World Club Series friendly against Brisbane when they scored their first victory against a southern hemisphere club. The Wolves dominated the first period to lead 24-6 at half-time before holding off the Broncos in the second term to win by a comfortable nine-point margin. Warrington had been one of only two club sides to defeat Frank Stanton’s 1978 Kangaroos (along with Widnes) but never had the famous Lancashire outfit managed a victory over a club team from Australia or New Zealand.
