Late surge points to bright future

THE wheels fell off South Sydney’s 2016 campaign early. A double injury blow during their first game of the season sent the club into a downward spiral and only a minirevival over the final month and the emergence of some exciting new talent saved the year from being a complete write-off. The Rabbitohs failed to qualify for the finals for the first time under coach Michael Maguire.
