BLISTERING speed out wide and the guile of skipper Corey Norman carried Parramatta to a surprise victory in the third edition of the Auckland Nines. The Eels weren’t ranked among the pretournament favourites and a 14-4 loss to Melbourne in their opening game had many predicting an early exit. But thanks largely to player of the tournament Norman and fleet-footed wingers Semi Radradra and Bevan French, the Eels regrouped on day one with a narrow defeat of the Sydney Roosters before a thumping win over 2015 Nines champions South Sydney pitched them to the top of their group.
