Reflecting upon a proud milestone

WHEN publishers Ian Heads and Gary Lester asked if I would be interested in taking charge of a Rugby League Yearbook, I didn’t have to think twice. I’d grown up reading E.E. Christensen’s Yearbooks since I was a teenager, devouring the stats and reading every word of Christensen’s reports from Kangaroo tours and interstate games and checking on his choice for Player of the Year. He had published his yearbook every year from 1946, so it was disappointing to see it fall by the wayside a year or two before he passed away in 1980.
