RAIDERS 28, EELS 24 PRIDE ON THE LINE IN THRILLING CONTEST THERE was next to nothing riding on the final game of the season for the Raiders and the Eels – neither team could qualify for the finals and neither was in danger of finishing last – but they turned on a thriller for the fans at Pirtek Stadium. The lead changed four times in an end-to-end contest that was decided in golden point. Parramatta winger Semi Radradra scored twice to break the Eels’ 33-year-old club try-scoring record of Steve Ella, while Canberra centre Jarrod Croker ended the season as top pointscorer, moving past Sydney Roosters five-eighth James Maloney with a 16-point contribution to the win.
