I HAVE TO THANK Marks & Spencer for my tour of the Ferrari factory… In 1986 I was on a business trip to Italy to source ceramic tiles for M&S, and most tiles are made in the Modena area. My contact at the tile factory happened to be well-connected with someone senior at Ferrari and, when he learned that I was a Ferrari enthusiast, he arranged for me to be given a tour. This was an unusual privilege, even for customers who were there to pick up a new car. Surprisingly, I was allowed to take several photographs, which are reproduced here for the first time.
