I AN MASON, Aston Martin’s service manager from 1964 to 1970, recalls the reaction to the DB6 at Newport Pagnell: ‘There was a great deal of enthusiasm among the people who were working on the production line; we got the general feeling that they were enjoying producing the new car and were pleased with it. In terms of actual progression it was as with every new car: it was very good. In many respects it was much more usable as a family car, for the extra length in the wheelbase gave greater use of the rear seats.
