ASTON MARTIN VOLANTE First Aston to be badged Lolante, announced in 1965 – same year as the DB6, yet not badged as such and known generally as the ‘short-chassis Lolante’. DB5-based with DB6 bumpers, tail-lights, oil cooler and leather stitching. ASTON MARTIN DB6 First-generation DB6 announced in 1965, exemplified by the gold car in this feature. Powered by a 282bhp 4.0-litre version of the Marek straight-six as used in the DB5 and the DB4 Lantage. Optional Lantage offers 325bhp. ASTON MARTIN DB6 MK2 Announced in 1969: tell one by its flared wheelarches. Fuel injection became optional, and many parts were shared with the (then-new) DBS.
