MARATHON GETS TOUGHER The 28th running of the Winter Marathon, based in Madonna di Campiglio on 21-24 January, offers an overhaul of the route with more regularity sections, organisers say. There were 45 ‘precision-timed’ sections last year; this time there will be at least ten more, and Friday 22 January starts with a 400km, 12-hour haul with only one break for dinner. entries are open until 13 December, with a 10% discount for those received by organisers before the end of September.
