Taking place on closed public roads in the Surrey countryside around Guildford, this year’s Shere Hill Climb promises a quintessentially English day out. The classic and supercar live-action festival celebrates other local hill climbs, some that started a century ago. More than 145 vintage and sports cars from the 1900s to the modern day will be competing, and there’ll be a vibrant spectator paddock and a family-oriented showground. Many of the 4000-plus visitors are likely to bring their classic cars, ensuring there’ll be as much to see in the car park as on the hill. The newly restored ex-‘Steady’ Barker Lancia Astura ‘Steady Special’ will open the course at 9.30am, and entrants will tackle the course three times.
