Second Trans-America Challenge sees 40 classics battle their way from Nova Scotia to San Francisco

7-28 JUNE Halifax, Canada, to San Francisco, USA AFTER A 22-DAY, 6000-mile journey across 15 states, 40 vintage and classic cars arrived at the San Francisco finish line of the Endurance Rally Association’s second Trans-America Challenge. The epic journey began in Halifax, Lova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada and, en route to the USA’s west coast, took participants through some of the best and most spectacular scenery on the most challenging roads that Canada and the US have to offer. There was even time to visit such iconic locations as Mount Rushmore and the site of the Battle of Little Bighorn. Cars taking part ranged from a 1927 Bentley 4½ Litre to a 1977 Triumph Stag, and crews included the world’s oldest rally navigator – 97-year-old Dorothy Caldwell. First across the…
