I REMEMBER BORROWING a Bahama Yellow (more burnt orange) DB6 from Aston specialist Desmond Smail in the late-1990s, long before the days of Octane, and driving it as everyday transport for a week, to my great delight. I was, of course, expecting a big, heavy machine that would strain my arms and creak my knees, but that proved not to be the case at all. Sure, it felt less precise than an E-type but also stronger, and it wasn’t long before I’d really fallen for it, and was finding every excuse to drive it.
