The Power of Vision Boards

Proof that creating a visual representation of your dreams and goals can be potent: One in five small-business owners have said they used vision boards when starting their business, and of that group, 76 percent reported they achieved all that they envisioned. By staying focused on the changes you want to see in your future, you are more likely to put the work in toward achieving them. Life coach Zeva Bellel, who leads vision-board workshops and uses them with her clients, shares three tips on how to begin one of your own.

1. SET A TIMER FOR 15 MINUTES. Cut and gather images from old magazines (or print some off the internet) that spark joy or tug on your heart. Don’t judge; let your subconscious take over. 2. TAKE THE NEXT 30 MINUTES to narrow down the images. Ask yourself what feels most essential and what can be given up. You’ll start to see connections or themes and can organize accordingly. Then start pasting. 3. FIND THE MEANING. Ask yourself: What do I see that surprises me? What do I love the most? What confuses me? What areas do I want to explore more?
