The issues are complex, the choices very broad and confusing, and mistakes can be disastrous because they come at a time when, unlike when we were young, we usually don’t have the resilience, the energy or the capability to put them right, and chances are we won’t have enough time left to us to fully recover our position if we do make a mistake.
