And a source has now claimed to new that, although charismatic Pete has admitted he has difficulties holding down a long-term relationship, there is nothing he'd like more.
"Pete really did adore Maura - but sometimes, relationships simply just don't work out. He's in a really great place, after his turn on Strictly and with his UKTV show, Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake getting amazing ratings. He was even in parliament recently, giving an impassioned speech at the relaunch of the Humane World for Animals charity, a cause he feels so passionate about. But someone noticeably absent from his life is his estranged father, Trevor, who walked out of the family home when Pete was around 11. Trevor eventually moved to Doha, Qatar, where he settled with his Filipino wife of nearly 11 years, Maria. It's something that seems to have affected Pete deeply. We just don't have a relationship and that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Not much I can do about it."
In his autobiography, Never Enough, Pete revealed the pair were once close during his childhood in East London and Essex. "My main goal in my life was to make my dad proud," he said. "I played every sport in the book, a...
