‘I really don't care what other people think of me'
She’s been on our screens for 13 years, but it seems Kourtney Kardashian is taking a step back from the show that made her famous.
The 41-year-old revealed last year she wanted to spend more time with her children – Mason, 10, Penelope, seven, and Reign, five – but when Kourtney popped up in Season 18 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, fans hoped she’d be back for good.
However, she’s had to rethink her future on the show once again following an on-screen fight with younger sister Kim. Eek!
We catch up with Kourtney during lockdown and she tells us that it’s been hard for her and the three children she shares with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick not to see the rest of the family.
“Khloé and I live two blocks away from each other, so I’ve seen her a couple of times outside at a distance if she’s walking through the neighbourhood, but that’s it,” she reveals.
Here, the reality star tells us what she’s been doing to deal with lockdown stress, how she handles criticism and talks us through her beauty routine…
Hi Kourtney. How have you been dealing with lockdown?
I feel like it’s at the point where it’s getting like, “I need to see people!” for everyone and some are breaking the rules. We’ve spoken about really following the rules. If the kids have asked for Scott to come over, that’s fine with me, but with the family, we’ve really been distancing and trying not to see each other.
What tips do you have for dealing with stressful situations such as the one we’re in right now?
I find writing things down helps. At night, clearing your mind by writing down things that have you feeling stressed and anxious really helps. I don’t do it every night, but I find that I do it on those times when I am not feeling great or I feel like my mind is racing and it won’t shut down. I have a big journal that I keep in my safe. I take it out, sit on my bed and I’ll just write down all of my thoughts. I think that’s really helpful. Just go easy on yourself, especially right now.

Is it true you’re ready to say goodbye to Keeping Up With The Kardashians?
I’ve just decided to spend more time as a mother and put more of my energy there, but I’m not saying goodbye.
Did you ever think that KUWTK would be so successful?
We didn’t even think about it, no. We just hit the ground running. We just did it and it happened so quickly. It was just really fun.
Have you ever wished your family wasn’t as famous as it is now?
Well, I’ve had my moments. One thing that Khloé always tries to encourage all of us to do is be grateful, but we all have our moments when we’re like, “Aargh! I hate this.”
How do you handle all the criticism you get?
I really don’t care what other people think of me as long as I’m confident in myself and what I’m doing. Sometimes the things people say are right and it may even make me think, “Oh damn! That outfit I had on was not as cute as I thought it was.”
You’re a big advocate of natural and organic beauty products or “clean” beauty. Why is that?
For me, clean beauty should be something that we don’t have to research and do all of this work behind. Our products should be safe for us to use. Any products sold to us shouldn’t have toxic chemicals and be cancercausing. When I speak about clean beauty, a lot of people think it’s just make-up – and it’s not. It’s so many different deodorants and other products that we use every day that we don’t even think about.
When did you first become interested in clean beauty?
I started getting into it when I realised ...
