The pair were grilled on The Murad Merali Podcast about their friends, and what it's been like to handle their social media accounts since they've been away, which have even included scary death threats for Ekin-Su.
Chatting on the podcast, Mabel, who hilariously revealed she met Ekin-Su, 27, in a hot tub at a party, said, "Certain people take this show way too seriously. They take it like it's life and death.
"I have seen the worst DMs on Instagram, and I couldn't believe it. What's worse is that some of these are kids. If they're not children, they're grown, adults. It's so confusing."
When Mabel got to the stage where she couldn't ignore the trolling any longer, she decided to start contacting schools and other organisations that are associated with the message senders.

She said, "I messaged schools, I messaged football teams, I messaged gymnastics clubs. And if it was the parents, I'm 100% calling all of them out - I don't care, I'm actually calling them out for the way they speak.
"If you don't like someone, that's fine, but there's a way to say you don't like someone. Some of them were sending death threats – ‘We’re going to kill you, we’re going to come and find you.’
“I was just like, ‘It’s just a game show, what is wrong with you people?!’ But yeah, they take it too seriously.”
Mabel made the point that some contestants have their parents handling their accounts while they’re in the villa, and she said she hasn’t received any advice about what to do if you’re faced with abuse.
Despite the trolling, Mabel and Haz have enjoyed supporting their mates on the show.
Haz, who got to know Davide, 27, on a night out, revealed, “Davide very rarely has to engage in a lot of conversations with women because, before even fame, he could walk around Manchester and everyone would be staring at him, so rarely has he had to graft.

“And that’s why, with the whole Ekin-Su thing, saying he’s not trying… it’s because Davide has never had to try. The fact is, he is trying now!”
Laughing, Mabel agreed, adding, “Davide has met his match with Ekin-Su. And we’re getting a dimmed-down version of Ekin. For now, for me, Ekin is acting very calm.”
“I hope they win, but I just want them to take the money,” Mabel continued, regarding the £50,000 cash prize the winning couple can choose to either split or steal.
“It’s just like when you are dating someone on the outside world, would you normally just give them half your money? No!”

One topic that’s come up over and over again since Davide and Ekin-Su coupled up was whether either of them would be distracted by a newcomer. Davide seemed particularly worried after Ekin-Su went for Jay Younger, 28, just hours after he entered the villa. Then, when series four Islander Adam Collard, 26, walked in, it looked like history could have repeated itself.
But when podcast host Murad asked Mabel if Ekin-Su fancied Adam, she was pretty dismissive. But she did say that Ekin might have thought he’s “really hot, but then if she got to know him, she would have been like, ‘Nah, I don’t like him…’”

And not having had her head turned by Adam has definitely been a good thing for this couple, with Haz adding, “I think Ekin-Su and Davide have brought out the best in each other, 100%. Thankfully, everyone has seen he is more than a pretty face.”
The question now is can they go the distance in the outside world? Only time will tell...
