'We're definitely in it for the long term'

'We're definitely in it for the long term'
A certain Casa Amor kiss nearly derailed their blossoming romance, but Love Island’s Jessie Wynter and Will Young have gone from strength to strength since they landed back in Blighty.
Tasmanian-born personal trainer Jessie, 26, who is temporarily living with Will, 23, and his family on their Buckinghamshire farm, couldn’t sound more smitten when we catch up with her for a chat.
“It feels like it’s meant to be,” Jessie tells new. “Will’s family have just been so wonderful, taking me under their wing. It feels like I’ve got my UK family here, which is just so amazing.”
Sparks flew immediately when Will met Jessie – who also starred in the Australian version of the show in 2019, where she came fourth. But when the farmer shared a smooch with Casa Amor’s Layla Al-Momani (after which a regretful Will said, “I feel like I f****d up big time!”), it looked like the writing was on the wall for their romance.
But the pair kissed and made up and right now Jessie sounds set on making a new life for herself in the UK with Will. “It may seem to others that it’s moving really fast, but for us, we just feel so happy and content,” she says.
Here, Jessie lifts the lid on Will dropping hints about marriage and children, what she thinks about being labelled “fake”and why she won’t be watching the show back any time soon…

Hi Jessie! How are things going with Will now you’re away from the cameras?
It is actually so much better because I feel like in the villa it’s an intense environment. It was really refreshing to get out of the villa and be able to just do normal things and live life as a normal couple.
Are you enjoying living on the farm with Will’s family?
I’m all settled in. It’s really nice getting out of London and back to the countryside that I’m used to. I think it’s been really good for mine and Will’s relationship to just settle back into the normal world instead of trying to be in London and living that high life.
What was it like meeting Will’s family?
Oh, they’re so lovely. I’m really close with his mum because she’s only got two sons and then obviously Will’s dad. He always said to me, “It’s so nice having a girl around.”
How do you see your future with Will?
Will jokes about marriage and kids all the time. I don’t know if he’s serious and dropping hints, but we definitely do see each other being in each other’s life for the long term.
Do you have any plans to travel back to Australia?
I definitely will be. I have to swap over my suitcase – I’ve got way too many bikinis for this UK weather! So I will head back to Australia, probably within the next month or two. That also resets my visa. Once we get back to Australia, I can have a look at options and whatnot. The plan is to come back to the UK for the long term. I love it here.
Do you have any plans to get your own place?
We do. We’re not making any long-term plans like that until after I get back from Australia.
Has your family met Will over FaceTime?
My family absolutely love and adore Will. He’s so lovely to my brothers. He’s the one who’s initiating the phone calls, so it’s really nice.
It sounds like you all get along very well…
It’s so crazy. I’m from Australia, he’s from the UK, but we just still can’t believe how perfectly matched we are. W...
