Seeing a homeless man sleeping on the front steps of their former workplace changed the way Gali Blacher and Madelyn Jones live their own lives. Five years ago the pair were working for a Sydney media company when they shared their concerns about the man people had to “step around” to get inside the door. “We basically formed a task force and spoke to so many people experiencing homelessness, which was a real eye opener,” Gali, 29, says. “I’ve met ex-accountants, lawyers and school principals that have had different things happen to them that led to them ending up sleeping rough. We realised homelessness can happen to anyone and knew we couldn’t solve the problem, but we wanted to make a difference.” Gali and Madelyn, 28, spent all their spare time setting up…
