DÉCOUVERTE D’UNE TOMBE « Permettez-moi d’attirer votre attention sur ma visite […] au cimetière du Béage (07) après une longue route depuis Loriol pour rejoindre mon Auvergne à Saint-Jean-de-Sollières (63). Passionné du Premier Empire, j’ai voulu venir me recueillir sur la tombe d’un célèbre soldat, le capitaine Jean-Antoine Souteyran (1785-1864), sachant que cet homme a pu braver tous les dangers à travers l’Europe et revenir par chance finir sa vie dans son village! Il devait être admiré pour ses exploits et ainsi la population l’a choisi également comme maire. Sur le site Internet de la mairie du Béage, dans l’historique, il est mentionné à la fin, concernant cet enfant du pays, que sa “tombe est clairement visible” dans le cimetière!
