If you’re looking for extra fitness motivation or a healthier way to socialize than a night on the town, consider joining a running club. “There’s so much camaraderie, encouragement, and inspiration when you’re running with other people,” notes Mitch Norgart, president of the Naples-based nonprofit organization Gulf Coast Runners. “There’s a sense of commitment people have about showing up, because you’re having fun and you’re making friends, and that becomes part of your social calendar.” Gulf Coast Runners offers weekly runs and regular events in addition to organizing races.
