Taken on an evening in May 2021 in Naples, this eye-catching photograph of a Bismarck palm is part of a larger collection, “A Beleza Da Vida,” by Claire Bailey, owner of Naples by Design LLC. Her work is rich in both color and texture and evokes a sense of calm for the viewer. Bailey, who enjoys playing with color and light, found inspiration for her collection, which commenced in 2018, from a need to “step back from everything and start enjoying the little things.” To compose for this series, the Naples resident employs a special technique using all manual settings, which she says allows for “complete flexibility.” Later, Bailey processes the images using a variety of color-enhancing techniques.
