Pan-Latin flavors are on display at El Nido, which opened in May at Estero’s Coconut Point. The Sofia family has designed a menu that incorporates influences from throughout South America as well as both the coastal and inland regions of Mexico.
“The Latin culture unites families and brings a feeling of togetherness,” says Donna Sofia, who owns El Nido with her husband, Joe. The Sofias have operated restaurants in Coconut Point for nearly two decades and currently own South Fork Grille. “When we started tasting and experimenting with dishes, we were amazed by the combination and complexity of flavors in these cuisines,” she says.
