If it feels like everyone’s on social media, you’re not wrong. According to Pew Research Center, 72 percent of U.S. adults used a social media site in 2021. There are many positive aspects of social media, from serving as an educational resource to building and maintaining relationships, according to Molly Modzelewski, licensed mental health counselor and co-owner of Serenity Counseling Associates of Naples. However, these platforms may also have negative effects on our mental health.
