Señales del fin del mundo

Los anuncios de la llegada del fin del mundo son numerosísimos. Los profetas cristianos del Apocalipsis habitualmente pronosticaban que el cataclismo ocurriría durante su vida, justificándolo por sus lecturas de la Biblia. Otros recurrieron a la numerología para predecirlo con mayor exactitud: por ejemplo, todo acabaría 6,000 años después de la creación del mundo según alguna cronología religiosa. Fueron avisos del fin del mundo (entre otros muchísimos acontecimientos) el levantamiento de los judíos contra los romanos en 66-70; el anuncio del regreso de Cristo en el año 500; el año 1000, según varios clérigos y el papa Silvestre II (sin embargo, el temor no fue tan generalizado como suele suponerse); los 666 años de la aparición del Islam (en 1284, por tanto); la llegada del Anticristo en 1366; una alineación planetaria…
