El acervo de la Cineteca Nacional

El gran acervo de la Cineteca se divide en dos tipos: acervo fílmico y no fílmico, a este último pertenecen las colecciones de materiales iconográficos, de video y archivos digitales. El acervo fílmico de la Cineteca Nacional consta de más de 80,000 rollos en diferentes formatos (de 35mm, 16mm, etcétera) que corresponden a aproximadamente 20,000 copias. Para monitorear el estado de conservación de este acervo, el personal de revisión técnica evalúa anualmente 2,200 copias fílmicas. El acervo fílmico crece cuando la Cineteca recibe negativos, o copias fílmicas o en formatos digitales de las películas mexicanas o extranjeras que se hayan producido, se produzcan o se exhiban en nuestro país.
