It’s interesting to note what kind of changes take place when a car moves from one generation to the next. When the car is the 200SX, it becomes an even more intriguing pastime. Public reaction to Datsun’s initial venture into the sport coupe market in 1977 was greeted with mixed emotions. The 200SX unquestionably possessed a space-age look, but most people were in a quandary as to what galaxy it had dropped from. Following three lackluster seasons, Datsun decided to abandon this smorgasbord of shapes in favor of a fresh design. This time they’ve left nothing to chance.
