Your August issue on diesels was simply great. I've been driving a Mercedes 180D for 15 years and suddenly feel justified in my "farsightedness." Looking ahead, however, have you any information on an outfit called Solar-Hydrogen Development Corp. or Consumers Solar Electric Power Co.? They make extravagant claims for both performance and economy.

Having just finished 28-odd pages devoted to diesels, it troubles me that your magazine overlooked some issues of importance to prospective diesel purchasers. Chief among the oversights was cold-weather starting. Since the sun always shines where you live, perhaps you should take one of your diesels to Minnesota.
