RX-7 RACES INTO THE RECORD BOOKS Mazda’s enduring RX-7 recently notched one more major motorsport milestone, becoming the first marque ever to win 100 IMSA GTO/GTU races. The unprecedented victory total began in 1979 with a stunning GTU class victory and fifth-place overall by Yoshimi Katayama/Yojiro Ter- ada/Takashi Yorino in the Daytona 24 hours. The landmark 100th conquest came at San Antonio, with Pete Halsmer driving the latest four-rotor GTO variant.
